The Canadian Lung Association today released the following statement regarding the passing away on Friday of Dr. Peter Macleod, Chief Medical Spokesperson for the Association:
“Today the Association mourns the loss of a man of integrity, decency and generosity. Dr. Macleod was a great man who dedicated his life to keeping people well and helping to find cures for lung disease.
A respected respirologist, Dr. Macleod served as President of the Canadian Thoracic Society, Chair of The Canadian Lung Association Board of Directors and, most recently, as Chief Medical Spokesman for The Lung Association. He contributed gently, quietly, and graciously – he was as willing to take part in a fundraising hike as he was to act as our expert medical spokesperson or preside over a board meeting. He will be missed greatly.
The Lung Association extends its deepest sympathies and affection to Dr. Macleod’s wife Margaret, their children Karen (Chris Worswick) and Ken (Lee) Macleod, as well as his grandchildren, siblings, extended family, colleagues and friends. We are fortunate to have been able to work with this incredibly special and giving man”. – Canadian Lung Association
